Preface: So although I had captained in the preceding mini this was my first time actually drafting the team myself. With the number of unknowns in division 3 I managed to draft a player that disappeared before game 1 and another that disappeared just before playoffs.

I would like to pay a special thanks to the large number of standins that stepped up to support us and the captains that were gracious and understanding.

Pos 5: Bob/le professor
Bob like most who ended up supporting in division 3 was actually a core player. While he didn’t always know what he was doing he always tried hard and was pleasantly pma. He did at times struggle to understand what was being said which caused communication issues. However due to his personal life he stopped playing just before the end of groups without letting us know beforehand.

Pos 4: Hellboy
Hellboy was a late addition to the team, being added a few weeks in as a free agent as my original player disappeared before games began. Hellboy like bob was a core player but had to play support on the team. I didn’t particularly get on with Hellboy as I found him to be too commanding and stubborn. He was stubborn to the point of continuing his plan even if all of us said no which led to his death on multiple occasions. His commanding nature may one day serve him well in rd2l if he gets more experience in knowledge under his belt and tried being a captain.

Pos 3: LeProff
LeProff was a player that I’d run into before in a previous mini when I stood in so I was happy to play with someone slightly familiar. He was a solid offlaner who commanded bans with his pool. While his nature of pointing out what I should be doing irked me at times it was more often than not correct. He always tried to stop the team from tilting and kept arguments in the team at a minimum. An absolute stand-up dude and would play with him again.

Pos 2: GrimЯ
Grim was by no means my first choice for a midlaner with many going for more than half of teams coins but I didn’t want to go that way. Him not being my first choice -is by no means a bad thing, getting a solid mid laner with a couple of heroes that he can dominate on for just over a third of my coins is a bargain. He found himself along with leproff having to try carry my somewhat substandard carry performances. He also initially drafted for the team but I later took on this responsibility.

Pos 1: me, owl, captain
To be blunt I fucked up by playing carry this season, after last mini I got frustrated with playing mid and went for something different. The current meta left me with a smaller hero pool than is optimal. I only had one hero I could guarantee carrying hard on and that was banned for the majority of games. Due to family issues and having at least one team member not being present for all but one week I neglected to organise scrims. In future I should probably avoid captaining as I lack the skills needed to command and organise a team in and out of game.

To sum up, I enjoyed playing with the majority of my team and am proud that we made it into playoffs and then into the semifinals. With the little practice we had along with a very varied support roster it was hard to keep strategy uniform and I should have done better.
